Firmly based on scientific psychological tests and theories, you can find out what your personality type is according to your blog writing style...its determined by entering the address of your blog into the "Typealyzer" website. All of "TheZologyBlogs" 40 addresses yielded the same result about the editor / author, that I am one of "The Doers", as the following states: "ESTP - The Doers: The active and play-ful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities.The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time." It goes on to state that the parts of my brain which were dominant during the writing of my blogs were, "Thinking" (logical and math-oriented) , "Practical", with "Sensing" components of order, habit and details put into use. Guilty Plea For Blogger Due To Copyright Violation

Kevin Cogill 27, from Culver City, California, pleaded guilty today in Los Angeles to a copyright violation due to posting on his blog (http://www.antiquiet.com/features/2008/06/weve-got-chinese-democracy-and-its-worth-the-wait/) nine of the fourteen tracks from the Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" months before it was officially released. He could end up with a year in prison, a large fine, probation time and required cooperation with authorities since he has yet to reveal the source for acquiring the music for his blog.

Consumers: Corporate Blogs Not To Be Trusted

While in the back of our minds, we all knew this was true. Corporate blogs, like Jonathan Schwartz Blog and Bob Lutz of GM frequently talk about one thing –they’re companies and their products. In fact, some would argue corporate blogs don’t live up to the dream of naked transparency as we saw from Robert Scoble way back in 2006. Instead, many corporate blogs have become a rehash of press releases written in more of a human tone, yet fail to address the real conversation that’s happening in the marketplace.

In the above graphic, Josh Bernoff has conducted research and found that consumers said they trusted corporate blogs very little. How little?

“Not only do blogs rank below newspapers and portals, they rank below wikis, direct mail, company email, and message board posts”

–in fact, a mere 16%

While I certainly discussed the findings with Josh before the report was published, he has far more details on the report, and answer what you should (and survey methodology) do from his post.

For what it’s worth, I spearheaded the corporate blogging program at Hitachi Data Systems, helped my two recent CEOs start blogging, and am an active ‘corporate’ blogger myself. Love to hear your thoughts on this, were you surprised?

Update: The Blog Council (a third party organization) has addressed the data, and has listed out many of their trusted blogs, I think most are part of their council. I wonder what the Blog Business Summit, Shel Israel, Dave Taylor will say –did corporations follow their instructions –doesn’t look like it.

Blogging Can Help – or Hurt – Your Career...blogging has become an impulsive contemporary art for careerists. Its a type of "Personal Branding". Should you develop your own blog or shouldn’t you? 1. One small step. Negative posts can be fatal.
Blogging can open you up for many legal, liability and employment questions, problems or crises.

2. Pictures tell a thousand stories.
Enough said.

3. Beautiful art can be destroyed.
Imagine you’re an artist like Michelangelo dipping brush to paint; a seemingly limitless creative well. You’re halfway done with your masterpiece, the signature of your worklife and rather spiritual mission. As you take your impossible position on the scaffold to paint more of the Sistine Chapel you have a thought. Imagine you could destroy your Sistine Chapel with one strike of the match. Like the great artist, blogging can help you take ownership of your career and worklife vision. Of course, it can also be just for fun too. But let’s also realize you, like the great artist, have the power to create or destroy your career future with just a few strokes or decisions.
